Established in 1824, the Plymouth Cordage Company became the largest manufacturer of rope and twine in the world. It was the largest employer in Plymouth for over 100 years and It was here that the rope used on the USS Constitution was was manufactured.
It is with great pride that the 1620 Winery, one of the longest standing wineries in Plymouth, announces its new location at Cordage Park. This location that has historical ties to both Plymouth and the world, will be the new home for the winery’s production line. Our long awaited state-of-the-art 13,000+ square foot function facility is now open. Feel the lure of an era of a time gone by – rustic bricks from the original rope factory have been maintained and surround an elegant ballroom with beautiful water views.
